Optometry is an eye care profession that specialize in diagnosing and managing vision related problems with the use of spectacles and medication.
The optometry unit at Barnor hospital has 2 departments; the refraction unit and the dispensing unit. At the refraction unit the optometrist examines the eye for error in vision and corrects accordingly with spectacles.
Some of the services delivered at the refraction unit is low vision, contact lenses, and low vision. At the dispensing unit, patients are assisted to choose the right spectacle frame that will give them best vision.
